Privacy Policy
How G-Hubs handles data on the website, API, and the G-Hubs New Tab browser extension.
Last updated: 2026-07-17
Scope
This policy describes how G-Hubs ("we", "us") processes information when you use g-hubs.com, related APIs, and the G-Hubs New Tab browser extension for Chrome and Edge. It is a product-level summary for users and store reviewers, not legal advice.
Information we process
Depending on how you use G-Hubs, we may process:
- Account details such as email, username, and profile fields you provide.
- Session credentials on the website, including access tokens and refresh-token cookies used to keep you signed in.
- Identifiers and profile data returned by sign-in providers you choose (for example GitHub or Google).
- Personal homepage configuration (shortcuts, folders, search engines, theme preferences) stored locally and, if you enable sync, on our servers.
- Files you upload for the product (for example avatars or personal homepage backgrounds/icons), hosted via cloud object storage / CDN.
- Feedback, reports, and similar content you submit to us.
- When analytics is configured, aggregate usage measurement (Google Analytics) on designated public pages such as the home, explore, and website detail routes—not necessarily every page.
- In the extension: preferences and auth session data in browser storage, and homepage data in local IndexedDB caches.
- On some anonymous or high-risk actions, a human-verification challenge (Cloudflare Turnstile) may run.
How we use information
- Provide account access, browsing, personal homepage, and related features.
- Sync homepage configuration across devices when you opt in.
- Protect accounts, prevent abuse, and operate moderation or review workflows.
- Understand product usage and improve reliability and experience.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Browser extension
The G-Hubs New Tab extension can replace your browser’s new tab page with your G-Hubs homepage experience.
- It uses the browser new-tab override so opening a new tab can show the extension page.
- The storage permission is used for local preferences, auth session material, and related extension state.
- Host access is limited to our configured web and API origins (for production, typically https://g-hubs.com and https://api.g-hubs.com), not arbitrary browsing of the open web.
- If you configure a custom new-tab URL in settings, the extension may redirect that tab according to your choice.
Storage and transfers
Service data is transmitted over HTTPS. Account and synced content are stored on infrastructure we operate or on processors we use to host the product (application hosting, databases, object storage/CDN, email, verification, and analytics when enabled). We do not describe every sub-processor brand here when that detail may change; processors act under our instructions for product operation.
Retention
We keep account-related data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we anonymize the account as implemented in the product; some user-generated content you submitted (for example published website entries) may remain. Local extension data remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the extension.
Sharing
We share data with service providers only as needed to run G-Hubs (for example hosting, storage, email, captcha, and analytics when enabled), or when required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
G-Hubs is not directed at children. Do not use the service if you are not old enough to consent to data processing under applicable law.
Your choices
- Update profile and related settings in the product.
- Sign out of website or extension sessions.
- Uninstall the extension or clear its site data in the browser.
- In the browser’s extension settings, turn off new-tab takeover or disable the extension if you no longer want G-Hubs as your new tab.
- Contact us with privacy questions using the details below.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may be highlighted in the product or by other reasonable means.
